Chemical composition analysis

Measurement of the chemical composition of gases, liquids, and solids is important to determine the quality or purity of raw materials, intermediates or final products. This can involve either bulk chemical analysis or search after trace elements for contamination purposes.

These parameters are not just important in chemical industry, but also in the pharmaceutical, paper, plastic and building industry.

The chemical composition of solid materials can be analyzed by both the traditional semi quantitative X-ray fluorescence (XRF) method, and the more accurate and more "representative"  Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA) technique.

Besides, our laboratory infrastructure also enables the analysis of weight changes upon thermal treatment of solids (Thermogravimetry Analysis) or the occurrence of heat effects in solids due to e.g. phase transitions as a function of temperature (Differential Scanning Calorimetry).
