La source d\u2019\u00e9lectrons est concentr\u00e9e en une fine sonde est rast\u00e9ris\u00e9 sur la surface de l\u2019\u00e9chantillon. Un d\u00e9tecteur recueille une partie de l\u2019\u00e9mission d\u2019\u00e9lectrons et l\u2019image est construite par modulation et amplification du signal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u00e0 ou le microscope \u00e9lectronique \u00e0 balayage analyse la surface, le microscope \u00e9lectronique en transmission (MET) analyse la structure interne des solides et donne acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des micros structures d\u00e9taill\u00e9s Cette technique s\u2019est av\u00e9r\u00e9e tr\u00e8s utile dans l\u2019analyse des domaines cristallins dans une matrice amorphe. Par exemple des catalysateurs contenant des m\u00e9taux support\u00e9s par une matrice&nbsp; m\u00e9soporeuse ayant des cristaux de z\u00e9olite microporeuse int\u00e9gr\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En ajoutant l\u2019EDS (energy dispersed spectrometry), les deux techniques, microscopie \u00e9lectronique \u00e0 balayage et microscopie \u00e9lectronique en transmission peuvent \u00e9galement \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 comme un outil d\u2019analyse \u00e9l\u00e9mentaire \u00e0 des endroits pr\u00e9cis de l\u2019\u00e9chantillon.
