L\u00e0 o\u00f9 l\u2019adsorption physique de gaz (physisorption) est utilis\u00e9e pour obtenir les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s du support,&nbsp; l&rsquo;adsorption chimique, (chimisorption), principalement d&rsquo;hydrog\u00e8ne ou de monoxyde de carbone, est utilis\u00e9e pour obtenir les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de la phase active du catalyseur. Les analyses quantitatives de la phase active, tels que la surface m\u00e9tallique, la dispersion&nbsp; et la taille des cristallites permettent de corr\u00e9ler les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s du catalyseur \u00e0 sa performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Au cours d&rsquo;une analyse d\u2019adsorption chimique, l&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon est d&rsquo;abord r\u00e9duit \u00e0 l&rsquo;hydrog\u00e8ne, puis \u00e9vacu\u00e9 pour d\u00e9couvrir la phase active. Avec la m\u00e9thode volum\u00e9trique, des quantit\u00e9s connues d&rsquo;hydrog\u00e8ne (Pt, Ni, Rh, Ru) ou de monoxyde de carbone (Pd, Pt) sont dos\u00e9s puis ensuite adsorb\u00e9s \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes pressions partielles, constituant l\u2019isotherme d\u2019adsorption chimique. Cette mesure de l\u2019isotherme est r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9e apr\u00e8s \u00e9vacuation \u00e0 la temp\u00e9rature de l\u2019analyse, pour \u00e9liminer les esp\u00e8ces faiblement adsorb\u00e9es (back-sorption isotherme ou double-isotherme m\u00e9thode). La diff\u00e9rence entre les deux isothermes repr\u00e9sente la quantit\u00e9 de gaz li\u00e9 chimiquement et peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 pour calculer la surface active du m\u00e9tal.
