La masse des particules est d\u00e9termin\u00e9e par la densit\u00e9 et la taille des particules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Actuellement, la vitesse de s\u00e9dimentation pendant l&rsquo;analyse de s\u00e9dimentation est d\u00e9termin\u00e9e en mesurant la transmission des rayons X dans le liquide \u00e0 des hauteurs et des intervalles de temps sp\u00e9cifiques et une distribution de la taille des particules bas\u00e9e sur la diff\u00e9rence de masse est calcul\u00e9e. Cela permet d&rsquo;effectuer des mesures \u00e0 haute r\u00e9solution dans un laps de temps relativement court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La technique convient \u00e0 tout mat\u00e9riau contenant des \u00e9l\u00e9ments avec Z &gt; 12 et est fr\u00e9quemment utilis\u00e9e pour la d\u00e9termination des fractions d&rsquo;argile dans les \u00e9chantillons de sol. La plage de granulom\u00e9trie, d\u00e9termin\u00e9e par \u00e9coulement laminaire, est d&rsquo;environ 0,5 \u00e0 300 \u00b5m. La densit\u00e9 doit de pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00eatre connue ou mesur\u00e9e par pycnom\u00e9trie \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00e9lium, ce qui peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre fait dans notre laboratoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les mesures de la distribution granulom\u00e9trique par s\u00e9dimentation sont effectu\u00e9es sur un Sedigraph 5100 de Micromeritics.
