In 80% van de industri\u00eble processen zijn vaste stoffen betrokken. In de chemische industrie alleen al is de helft van de producten en ten minste driekwart van de grondstoffen in de vorm van poeders en korrelvormige vaste stoffen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In ieder deeltjesproces hebben de fysieke kenmerken van poeder en korrelvormige materialen, bijvoorbeeld cohesie, dichtheid, samendrukbaarheid, deeltjesgrootteverdeling, deeltjesvorm, en vochtgehalte een belangrijke invloed op het stromingsgedrag van de bulk. Ook kunnen deeltjes en granulaten tijdens de productie, verwerking en transport slijtage vertonen. De krachten die deeltjes ondergaan zijn over het algemeen ingedeeld in botskrachten, drukkrachten, en schurende krachten. Drukkrachten vaak met trechters, transportsystemen, silo&#8217;s en op de vrachtwagen of per spoor waar de deeltjes worden samengedrukt door hun eigen gewicht. Drukkrachten kunnen leiden tot versnippering van de deeltjes, een proces waarbij een deeltje wordt gesplitst in kleinere delen, meestal groot in aantal en met een aantal maten van de dochter van deeltjes Dat leidt soms tot in de releases van de ingesloten materiaal. Slijtage veroorzaakt stof en segregatie heeft een impact op de kwaliteit van het poeder materiaal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Een breed gamma van verschillende methodieken is beschikbaar voor het karakteriseren en testen van bulk poedergedrag.
